Adventure six: Quiche


Bacon Cheese Quiches
5 slices bacon
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated flaky biscuit dough

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease 10 muffin cups. 
Place bacon in skillet. Cook over medium high heat until crisp and evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside. 
Place the cream cheese, milk, and eggs in a medium bowl, and beat until smooth with an electric mixer set on Low. 
Stir in cheese, and set aside. 
Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Press into the bottom and sides of each muffin cup, forming 1/4 inch rims. 
Sprinkle half of the bacon into the bottoms of the dough-lined muffin cups. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the  mixture into each cup. 
Bake 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until filling is set and rims of the tarts are golden brown. Sprinkle with the remaining bacon, and lightly press into the filling. 
Remove from pan, and serve warm.

Adventure 5: Biscuits and gravy

Hey, sorry for posting so late. My camera died and I couldn't get pictures!

Biscuits and turkey sausage  gravy.

Recipe
ingredients

1 cup flour  
1 tsp butter, melted
1 ½ tsp baking powder




 Cooking spray (butter flavored)
1/8 tsp salt                                     
½ cup milk  
     for gravy

½ lb ground turkey 
2 ¼ cups milk
1 Tbsp butter                                    
3 Tbsp flour  
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Sage, thyme, summer savory, rosemary

Preheat oven to 450.
Combine flour, powder, & salt in bowl.  Stir well.  Make a well in center.
Combine milk & butter.  Add to flour mixture.  Stir til just moist.
Drop batter by heaping TBSPs onto baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 450 for 11 minutes or til golden.
Split biscuits and top with gravy



Sausage Gravy
Melt butter in med. Saucepan over med. Heat.
Add ground turkey.  Cook til browned, stirring to crumble.
Sprinkle flour over sausage & cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add milk, stirring til well blended.
Cook 8 minutes or til thick, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in herbs & salt.


Adventure
So. I doubled the biscuit recipe. And thought, hey, I should double the gravy to. yeah, no. No. I ended up eating gravy for a week. but it tasted really good!
